It’s a unique time to step in their shoes, to make sure your communication is as effective as you’d like it to be.
- Kill your darlings. Don’t be scared to remove chunks of your work, even if it feels precious to you. If it’s a passage that’s really tough to part with, try saving it somewhere else, so you can return to it later in your piece or for another work.

I generally say that a true gamer is anyone whom I can have a good, intelligent discussion with, about games. Someone whose gaming interests aren't limited to JUST FPS games, or JUST RPGs. So, I have a friend who plays his PS3 religiously every day, but I wouldn't call him a gamer, because he literally ONLY plays FPSs. His response to my question "do you want to borrow Skyrim from me? It's a great game" was "no. I don't like Roleplaying Games." notice anything about how i type? yea, i dont waste the keystrokes to capitalize the first letter of every sentence, infact i avoid using apostrophes for the same reason.. decades of not wasting keystrokes added up. i also sleep in 3 2 hour clips a day, this way i dont ever miss a launch and i dont miss ingame events when games have them. speaking of game launches i have all the ones that matter to me at all marked on my computers calendar with 1 day warnings and a reminder a week ahead of time so i can make sure i have everything i need in order to not be disturbed. i also keep track of developers, publishers, and people related TO gaming. last year i had to buy a bigger house just to store the decades worth of miscellaneous bricka-bracka associated with gaming (who sells their games or consoles? not a gamer).
it shows in how i play too. i dont kill everything between point a and my objective, that wastes far too much time (and i have alot to do with mine), i learn quickly how much space i have to avoid aggro and make a b-line for the objective and then get out. i dont analyze every item i find either, i know at a glance if its worth using or not. i dont waste time on grudges in shooters either, great you killed me twice, now ill kill 6 of your team members. fighting games i turtle for a bit and then once i see what the other person is trying to do i route their attacks and ideally keep a combo rolling (casuals i can usually beat with my back to the screen). racing games i draft alot and always make absolutely sure if i hit somebody they are going to fly off the track. i use keyboard and mouse when youre supposed to (fps, rts, 6dof, mmorpgs) and a controller for most other things.. though i dont REALLY use a keyboard so much as i use a tartarus, n52, or orb weaver.
i would also rather be found dead in a ditch buried in pig shit than play a game on a cell phone… and id rather be in that ditch naked with a pink rubber dick between my teeth than have the game on my phone be fortnite.

There are a lot of definitions for this word and pretty much most of them are right, but they're all leaving out a vital detail : Gaming isn't just playing one company's systems and only the systems of that one company. To be a true gamer, you accept that a good game is a good game and you shouldn't give a crap what system it's on.

A gamer is a person who plays video games very much. The games can be played on any platform like PC, PS, XBox, wii …. it doesn’t matter . Any person who just played one game is also not considered a gamer. You see, Gamer is kind of a rank you achieve by playing multiple games and for long time.
A gamer is someone who spends time in their day thinking about gaming when they're not playing. They read blogs, research new games, strategies, or work on building their collection. It doesn't matter the mode of gaming. Some of the most hardcore gamers would rather roll dice than pick up a controller. It's all about how much it consumers your thoughts.

I for one when I was younger used to draw lines, and refuse to accept certain “types” of “gamers” as legit (IE. Facebook Games, Mobile, etc.). But over time you can’t deny both the industry that facebook games, and now mobile games has built and the devotion and dedication of it’s base. Also, when my mother had 23 mini strokes, she built her motor skills back up by playing games like Farmville with it’s targeted clicking, which may have also helped change my outlook.
Only people who play exactly the same genres of games as me, and enjoy them in exactly the same way as me.
Everyone who is less serious about those games is a casual and everyone who is more serious is a tryhard, only the people that are exactly as serious about those games are True Gamers(tm).
