So the Three Sisters Islands can be a part of a nice scenic walk you make when you are visiting Goat Island of Niagara Falls State Park in New York.
You’ll likely visit Goat Island as part of your visit to Niagara Falls.
Well, if you visit the American side of Niagara Falls that is!
Goat Island is connected to the Three Sisters Islands by small bridges.
So from Goat Island, you can walk across these bridges for a nice scenic walk with views of some smaller waterfalls along with some smaller Niagara River rapids!
How to get to the Three Sisters Islands bridges
You can walk to get to Three Sisters Islands, or you can take the trolley to get to Three Sisters Islands.
1. Walk to Three Sisters Islands by following the trail around Goat Island.
There is a walking trail called the Goat Island Scenic Walk that loops around the outside of the entire Goat Island.
You can follow this path, and it will also take you to Three Sisters Islands.
For example, the trail also connects to Terrapin Point, one of the most popular spots in Niagara Falls State Park, also on Goat Island. So after you have visited Terrapin Point, as you are facing the Niagara River (and waterfalls) off to the LEFT you will see a trail.
If you follow that path, that will take you to Three Sisters Islands!

2. Ride the Niagara Scenic Trolley to Three Sisters Islands.
There is a trolley called the Niagara Scenic Trolley (info) that travels around Niagara Falls State Park.
In 2023, the cost of an all-day ticket for the trolley is $3 per person. Confirm current prices.
There is a trolley stop right in front of Three Sisters Islands.
How much time do you need for Three Sisters Islands?
The parking lot is near Terrapin Point. To walk from Terrapin Point to Three Sisters Islands will be around a 10-15 minute walk one way.

Once you arrive at the first bridge to the Three Sisters Islands, to walk across all the bridges to the “last” island and back can take you less than 5 minutes.
So if you want to do a nice leisurely walk to stop and take in the views from the bridges and lookout points, maybe you’ll take 10-15 minutes in total to visit the Three Sisters Islands of Niagara Falls.
There is no swimming, wading, or water entry anywhere around Three Sisters Islands or in Niagara Falls State Park.
What you’ll see at Three Sisters Islands
As you walk across the bridge at Three Sisters Islands, you’ll see some mini-waterfalls!
You can also get a distant view of some mist coming off of Niagara Falls from doing the Three Sisters Islands walk.

If you park at the main parking lot on Goat Island, this will be right near Terrapin Point. This is also called parking lot #2.
So once you’ve taken in the views at Terrapin Point, you can start your walk to Three Sisters Islands! As you’re making your way to Terrapin Point, you’ll probably come across signs for Three Sisters Islands too. So look out for the signs, and you’ll know which way to go when the time comes for you to go to Three Sisters Islands.
Otherwise, when you are facing the Niagara River, you’ll look for a trail that heads off to the left.
From Terrapin Point, you’ll start off walking directly along the water, and off you go!
And then you will arrive at the first bridge to Three Sisters Islands!
And then off you go to cross bridge #1!
And then you’ll keep walking…
And then you’ll cross bridge #2…
And then you’ll continue walking…
And then you’ll cross bridge #3, which is the final bridge. From this bridge, if you look towards Canada you’ll be able to see the Niagara River flowing into the area that becomes one of the Niagara Falls. And you can see the mist coming off of Horseshoe Falls off in the distance.
And then you’ll make it to the end of the trail for more views of the Niagara River.
And then you’ll head back the same way you came!
